Before aquatic management

In warm summer months with crystal clear water a pond can become overgrown very rapidly. This pond had become completely sealed off with aquatic plants and algae due to neglecting proper management techniques. Depending on the outcome our clients would like, we may recommend one of three methods of management or even a combination of the three (biological, mechanical, and chemical).

After aquatic management

In the example, this particular client wanted his pond cleaned up in order to sell his property for top dollar and to the right buyer. In the time frame we were given we had to mechanically remove the vegetation. We also introduced hybrid carp to mitigate further vegetation growth (biological) and supplemented with an herbicide (chemical) to ensure the pond stayed clean. Lastly, we added a pond die to shade the bottom from vegetation growth and add to the overall aesthetic of the property.

Maintenance

For someone who would like their pond or lake kept a certain way, we recommend getting on our maintenance schedule. A body of water can change dramatically from season to season and like everything else, it requires proactive maintenance to keep a healthy ecosystem and beautiful pond or lake. We find it is most beneficial and cost effective to keep it maintained year around rather than letting it get out of hand each season.
